Our Facilities

Our service users love our purpose-built spa pool, which provides a therapeutic, relaxing and often fun experience.

Along with the comfort of a warm soak, hydrotherapy is used to stimulate the body, nerves and senses to improve general well-being. The heated water supports muscles and joints, increasing ease of movement and helping to relieve pain and relax the body. It’s also a great way to build the confidence of our service users.

The spa pool becomes an ideal alternative when local swimming pools are busy during the school holidays, which some of our service users don’t like. The soft edged tub is fitted with a hoist to ensure easy access for those with mobility concerns.

Our multi-sensory room is a peaceful area where our residents and visitors love to relax and unwind.

Coloured lights, shimmering fibre optics and rotating mirrors are among the features which surround the soft cushioned floor space, used to enhance and develop our service users sensory experience.

As well as our outdoor ball pool and sand pit, we have an indoor, soft padded ball pool where our service users can have some fun and stimulation or just relax and enjoy story time.

There are plenty of musical instruments to keep our residents and service users entertained in the music room.

Although we’ve heard some great compositions here at The Firs, our music room is not so much about musical training, but instead using instruments to have fun, express feelings and to stimulate the mind, memory and concentration.
